Taking a little breather...
Hey Guys,
Just wanted to let you know I'm going to be taking a teensy blog breather. I'm sure I'll be back by next week at the latest. Right now, despite my best efforts I'm struggling with choices and have seen my weight shoot up. I don't want to get into details, because really, I need to just chill out about it. I know I'll lose the weight I've re-gained by making the right choices, but if I focus too much on the numbers I just get too anxious and upset. I look forward to catching up when I'm feeling like a better bandster. I need to be more of a whole person to do this, and not have my band/weight-loss be my biggest focus in life.

1. What time did you get up this morning? Set the alarm for 7:15, got out of bed around 7:50... no shower for me this morning, just some hair straightening
2. How do you like your steak? Medium Rare
3. What was the last film you saw at the cinema? Avatar in 3D at home in Toronto.
4. What is your favorite TV show? I am pretty stoked that I'm not watching aaaaas much tv as i once did - I try not to miss The Biggest Loser though! Other than that, i love Food Network and HGTV shows like House Hunters and Property Virgins.
5. If you could live anywhere in the world where would it be? I love where I live now... Whistler would be pretty amazing too.
6. What did you have for breakfast? Two leftover chicken nuggets.
7. What is your favorite cuisine? Thai
8. What foods do you dislike? Mushrooms, Indian gives me a bellyache
9. Favorite place to eat? Hen of the Wood in Waterbury, VT.
10. Favorite dressing? Homemade Honey Mustard Vinaigrette
11. What kind of vehicle do you drive? Grey Subaru Forester
12. What are your favorite clothes? Good jeans (my Fidelities or Citizens), boots, a soft tank and a pretty sweater is pretty much my uniform... Love dressing up too though!
13. Where would you visit if you had the chance? Back to Australia, for sure, South-East Asia, I'd love to get to Africa... Anywhere!

15. Where would you want to retire? I'd love to have a place either in Stowe or in Muskoka (cottage country in Ontario) and then a place somewhere warm.

22. What did you want to be when you were little? A pre-school or kindergarten teacher. Or FAMOUS.
23. What is your best childhood memory? We took a trip to Disney World when i was four and I have this memory of an ice-cream sundae bar by a crazy pool with caves and slides that was SO cool!
24. Are you a cat or dog person? Dogs more, but I like kitties too.

Can't Nothing Hold Me Down
Woo! Workout-Wednesday is over, and it was such a success! I went to Phusia this morning, danced my ass off, Julie then put me on the elliptical on strength for half an hour, then half an hour of lifting... Then went back at six for another hour of dancing! Here's my little dance outfit... 
I get SO hot in that class! The shorts were a lil short for comfort during stretching, haha, but it kept me cooler! I am feeling so good about this Challenge, how well you have all responded. Aunt P is visiting right now and normally my weight might be up a little, but with all these workouts I feel like I'll bust through the bloat!

Challenge Check-In/Weigh-in Wednesday
Hey everyone! Happy Hump Day!
Today is my day off of classes, and my super hardcore workout day. Headed to the gym in an hour for an hour of Phusia, followed by an hour of personal training, and then, as my challenge bonus, back to the gym at 6 for another hour of shaking my butt in Phusia. If you're wondering what Phusia is and how it's different than Zumba, fear-not, I have some excitement in store for all of you, so keep your eyes peeled!
How are all of you doing on the challenge? I'm so impressed and proud of you all, so many have taken it on! Remember this is just about pushing yourself that little bit further- I just want you to feel some endorphins!!
My weight this morning is 182.4, down 1.6 from last week. Yesterday my scale said 181.2 for a minute, which was exciting and all, but it wasn't Wednesday so it doesn't count. 1.6 in a week is perfect to me, especially since it's really 1.6 since Sunday!

So I recently did a post with a bunch of new pictures of myself, and thought it might be cool to share some old pictures of myself. Often I struggle to see any significant change, because when you see yourself every day, it can feel so slow or gradual. But looking at these pictures - and these are ones I let be tagged on Facebook, some of them that I really liked of myself. When I look at these, I can't get over how far I've come, on the cusp on 90lbs down!
This last one is especially interesting, because I remember thinking about this picture, which was very flattering, this is what I might look like if I ever get thin... I was kinda right, I think! Alas, I also look older.

I'm friends with my band again

Hi Ladies,
I didn't really share this, but after the fill I got in Toronto, I got really tight. Like I pb'd on soup tight, and not the next day, like four days later. It was so crazy, because I only got .15 put in, but it shows what the tiniest little tweak can do. Yesterday was bad, I hardly ate anything and was a bit nervous that I might need a de-fill, but today I feel totally normal again. My appetite was totally back, but I knew how important it was to choose carefully and chew well, eating slowly. I managed to eat a bunch of salad, some roast turkey breast tonight, all the good healthy foods I need. I'm also losing pretty well which is nice, I was down to 183 182.8 this (now Tuesday) morning, and have a feeling this is going to be the week of the month where I drop 3 or 4 pounds... 3 more and I'm down 90 total! Woah!

Setting Goals

So over the past few days, I have been really struggling with the idea of what my goal weight should be. Like Amy, I set my goal weight at 170 somewhat arbitrarily. It just seemed far enough away from 200. I have never been a normal or healthy weight as an adult so I can't draw inspiration from there. What I do know is this - I am not only 14lbs away from where I want to be. I'm thinking that I really would ultimately get to the 150s, and to 160 by the time I get a Tummy Tuck. It's a push goal, and if it doesn't happen, I'll be ok, but at the same time, I don't want to lose too much more after that surgery.
It's crazy to think about though - weighing 150something pounds. That's genuinely thin, not just better than I was, not just chubby. It's the kind of weight I reserved for everyone else, I always figured I'd still be the bigger girl. I'm not interested in that anymore. I want it all. I never in my dreams even allowed myself to believe I'd get down to such a low weight. Even now, it seems hard to achieve, yet at the same time - I've already lost 86. I know I can lose another 30ish, especially with these ten workouts a week.
How did you set your goal weight? As you've gotten closer to goal, are you realizing you may want to end up smaller?
EDIT: MY BMI WOULD BE IN THE NORMAL RANGE AT 160 AND BELOW.

Happy to Be Hardcore - A CHALLENGE!

Hi Ladies!
So I am here to present you with a little challenge. This coming week, I plan to really push myself exercise wise. My plan, starting tomorrow, is this:
Saturday: Half-Hour Private Spin/Hour and 15mins Dance/Half hour PT (my usual)
Sunday: off
Monday: Core Class + 30 cardio at Champlain
Tuesday: 1hr cardio at Champlain
Wednesday: THE BIG PUSH: Hour Dance in am/PT in pm/Dance in PM
Thursday: off
Friday: Hour Spin/Hour Dance.
So I'm setting a goal of just about 10 hours this week. I am INSANE. I am not challenging you to do that many, but I'm challenging you to try something out of your comfort zone. For me that's going to Phusia in the morning and at night on Wednesday - it seems crazy, but I know I'll have fun once I'm there and burn so many cals!
For some this might mean just getting to the gym, for others doing an extra 20 mins on the treadmill. Whatever it is, I want to know about it, and I want to hear how you did!

Yay for workouts!

Hi guys,
Just wanted to remind you all of how GOOD exercise can make us feel! It has been a while since I've worked out at my own gym, and I missed it! I was having a bit of a sluggish emotional day, between therapy and temporarily losing my new coat... I was ready to cancel the plans I had made for tonight. But after the workout I feel GREAT. I did an hour of pt and then an hour of my dance class, Phusia. I had never been to the nighttime class and it was so fun!
Now I'm just eating a quick little meal I threw together - a chicken jalapeno sausage cut up and sauteed (makes it crispier, which is easier for me) with sauteed onions and garlic, served with some tortilla chips and salad. Fifteen minute meals, take that Rachel Ray!

What-Up, Wednesday
Hi Everyone,
Sorry I haven't posted in a few days, life has gotten busy! I started my new school on Monday and so far I have loved it. Some classes are more interesting than others, and I still have to buy my $232 business law text book - wah!
I am lucky to have a nice weigh-in this morning because I went out for a big dinner last night, although the band definitely stopped me from eating much, it was a bit hard to figure out what to eat. I didn't follow my instincts and just get an appetizer as a main, and it bit me with a bit of a pb episode.
My weight is now 184.0. 86lbs down, 14 to go. WOAH! Sure sounds like a lot, doesn't it.
Today is my day off from classes, and it's a day to finally get back in the gym, for personal training at 5 and phusia at 6. I am excited if a bit nervous to get my ass kicked!

New Picture Post!
So I'm back in VT, start Orientation at Champlain and am back up to weighing 188. I know I'll lose it again, especially because my teensy little fill does feel like it's given me more restriction. More on that, the TT consult, and everything else soon, but first here are some pics from my holidays. Mostly NYC. The pool ones are from our super cool lobby pool at the Hotel Grace. Finally a Fill!
So this afternoon I have a fill and a tummy tuck consult. I am very excited for this, I really need both. My week in Toronto has been nauuughty, and I have gained a bunch. My scale here typically weighs about 2 heavier than in Stowe, but this one is saying 190... NOT COOL! I'm excited to get filled and get back down...
